Capricorn 1 is the brain child of bass player Paul Francis and is a Instrumental band playing original tunes.The music spans many genres including #Rock, #funk, #Jazz and #world music.....
The musical concept was Inspired,not only by Paul’s experiences touring with #PaulWeller, #JTQ and #Galliano but with his musical relationship with drummer Harbans Shrih (JTQ #AnimalNightlife) and #StyleCouncil drummer Steve White
The tunes on the 1st Cd were written by Paul, Harbens Shrih, Dave O'higgins and #MickTalbot from #TheStyleCouncil & were recorded in 1990 for #EddiePillars #AcidJazz Label (they had been intended to be a follow up to a to a previous Acid Jazz project spearheaded by drummer Harbans called Whats What“Open Channel D “
Unfortunately it was not to be and the tracks lay dormant in the vaults at Sonica studios South London (apart from 2 tracks licensed to Focus Music Library which have been successfully used by #BBC for the programme "about the good life" and #Homesunderthehammer)
and for other TV channels around the world.
